Institut Flix is a public education centre that belongs to the Department of Education of the Government of Catalonia. It provides secondary school education (from ages 12 to 16), high school (both scientific/technological and humanistic/economic paths), two middle vocational training courses (electromechanical maintenance and administrative management studies) and two advanced vocational training courses (electro technical facilities and secretarial studies).

It is located in Flix, a small town in the region of Ribera d’Ebre, within the province of Tarragona, in the south of Catalonia. The school hosts around 360 students from Flix and other villages in the area: Riba-roja d’Ebre, la Palma d’Ebre, Ascó, la Torre de l’Espanyol and Vinebre. Also, the percentage of students coming from foreign countries is approximately 10% of the total.

We define ourselves as a centre with a specific aim: to educate. It is a simple term with a very ambitious scope. The values and the tasks we carry out are based on respect for diversity, making inclusion, coeducation and diversity an enriching element for the promotion of tolerance, solidarity and social commitment. A centre that works ultimately to educate responsible students and help them achieve critical thinking abilities, both through the curriculum and the projects carried out in the school.

L’Institut de Flix és un centre de titularitat pública que depèn del Departament d’Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya. S’imparteix ESO, Batxillerat (cientificotecnològic i humanisticosocial), dos cicles formatius de grau mitjà (manteniment electromecànic i gestió administrativa) i dos cicles formatius de grau superior (instal·lacions electrotècniques i secretariat).

Es localitza a la comarca de la Ribera d’Ebre, a l’interior de la província de Tarragona, i acull prop de 360 alumnes procedents de les petites poblacions rurals de Riba-roja d'Ebre, La Palma d'Ebre, Ascó, Vinebre, la Torre de l'Espanyol y Vinebre –el percentatge d’alumnes de procedència estrangera és, aproximadament, d’un 10 % del total-.

Ens definim com un centre amb una pretensió concreta: educar. Un terme senzill amb un abast molt ambiciós. Els valors i les tasques que duem a terme es fonamenten en el respecte per la pluralitat, fent de la inclusió, la coeducació i la diversitat un element enriquidor pel foment de la tolerància, la solidaritat i el compromís social. Un centre que treballa, en definitiva, per formar alumnes responsables i amb esperit crític, tant mitjançant el currículum com en els diferents projectes de centre i de l’entorn.
